East Bladen’s Lady Eagles attempt to complete a perfect regular season Thursday night when they entertain rival West Bladen on Senior Night.
Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles (13-0 in league play and 23-0 overall) clinched their third straight Four County Conference championship Tuesday night, and this year’s senior class has compiled a 98-10 record over their four-year career.
Senior Lacey Suggs leads the East Bladen offense and averages 21points, 9 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists per game. Senior point guard Abby Ward contributes 8.5 points, 6.7 assists and 6 steals per game.
Other senior starters are Christiana Cromartie (5.5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots per game) and Miller Heustess (3.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game).
Freshman Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson is East Bladen’s second leading scorer with a 9.5 average. Junior Emily Scott grabs 5.4 rebounds per game, and freshman Ashley Hardin collects 5.6 rebounds per game.
Coach Rick Rhoda’s West Bladen squad currently resides in fifth place in the Four County with a 5-8 league record and a 7-15 overall mark.
The Lady Knights are led by junior Laikyn Pait (12 points and 9 rebounds per game). Junior Akira Grimes contributes 5 points and 5 rebounds per game.
