Rodriquez D. McNeil of Elizabethtown has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a Fayetteville convenience store cashier, according to the Fayetteville Police Department

McNeil, 23, of the 800 block of Thompson Avenue, had warrants drawn Friday for first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, a news release said. He will be arrested and held in the Cumberland County Detention Center once he is released from an area medical facility where he is being treated for an unrelated injury.

McNeil and 20-year-old Jaequan Ernerst Wright of Fayetteville are charged with killing Rayd Hezam Ali Al Qadhi. Wright is charged with first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy.

Al Qadhi was shot about 11:30 p.m. on May 22 at the Express Mart gas station on the 1500 block of Clinton Road, police said. Al Qadhi was found dead at the scene when officers arrived.
