BOLIVIA – Former East Bladen star Evan Pait recorded his 6th victory of the season Saturday as Brunswick Community College swept a doubleheader from Lenoir Community College 6-0 and 9-7. The Dolphins raised their record to 36-5 and also secured the 500th career win for Coach Robbie Allen.

Pait pitched 5 innings of shutout baseball allowing only 3 hits and striking out 8 to raise his record to 6-2 in the 6-0 win. The freshman right-hander has made 10 appearances on the hill – 5 starts – striking out 46 batters in 43.1 innings and has an earned run average of 2.49.

Other highlights of Pait’s season include: complete game 3-hitter with 6 strike-outs in a 9-0 win over Pitt Community on April 13; 6 innings allowing 5 hits and no earned runs while striking out 7 in 10-3 win over Southeastern Community on March 26; pitched 4 innings of 4-hit baseball allowing 1 run and striking out 4 in 4-2 win over Lenoir on March 10.

Pait pitched 5 innings of 3-hit baseball allowing 1 earned run and striking out 6 in 8-4 win over Bryant & Stratton on February 25. He pitched 5 innings of 4-hit baseball, allowing 2 runs and striking out 6 to record his 1st win on February 18 over CCBC-Dundalk.

The Dolphins are 24-2 in NJCAA Region X play and will visit Southeastern Community College Wednesday at 2 p.m. before traveling to Richard Bland College for 3 games Saturday and Sunday.
