The New Years weekend is always a time for reflection and celebration. There are plenty of activities to help you ring in the New Year.
On Sunday, December 31, the Regal Resort at White Lake will be holding a New Year’s Eve Party at The Venue. The party will begin at 9 p.m. with the fee of $30 per person and attire is dressy casual. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served along with a Champagne toast at midnight. DJ Brian Evans will be playing a variety of music for the event.
At 11 a.m. the Purdie UMC will be having a Moravian Lovefeast. There will be singing, juice and bread, along with a candlelight service. For more information about this event, call Rev. Al Marshburn at 910-876-0091 or email at revmarshburn@gmail.com.
At 9 p.m. the Elizabethtown Church of God will be having at Watch Night service. There will be food, fellowship, communion, and feet washing.
On Monday, January 1, start 2018 off to a healthy start. Join a park ranger at Jones Lake State Park for a four-mile hike around the lake. There will be a discussion on the hike which will include the history of Jones Lake State Park and the flora and fauna. Participants should meet at the Visitor Center at 10 a.m. for this program.
