Thursday will mark the National Day of Prayer and Bladen County residents can gather at the flag pole in front of the Elizabethtown Municipal Building and in front of the Bladenboro Historical Building at noon to pray.
The theme for this year’s event is “For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear us… Forgive Us … Heal Us!” The first Thursday of May of each year is a time for people to come together to pray for our nation, our families, our communities, and our leaders.
The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 with the adoption of a joint resolution of the US Congress and was signed by President Harry S. Truman.
