Twin brothers Farrell and Larrell Murchison who both had exceptional football careers at East Bladen High are both playing for undefeated Louisburg College this season.
Farrell Murchison, a 225-pound running back, has rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown in the four Louisburg wins. Farrell carried 8 times for 62 yards in a 36-14 victory over the Christopher Newport JV’s on September 6 in Newport News, VA.
In the Hurricanes 37-0 victory over the Huntingdon College jayvees in Montgomery, AL on Sept. 27, Farrell Murchison ran for 21 yards and a touchdown on 6 attempts.
Larrell Murchison, a 277-pound defensive lineman, has made 9 tackles in the 4 wins, including one sack, and 6 solo tackles. Larrell has been credited with 4.5 tackles-for-loss for a total of minus 9 yards.
In Louisburg’s 45-20 win over the North Carolina Wesleyan JV’s in Rocky Mount on Sept. 20, Larrell made 4 tackles for the minus 9 yards in the game.
On August 29 at Rocky River High School, Louisburg defeated Jireh Prep of Monroe 30-2 in their season opener. Larrell Murchison had a fumble recovery, 2 total tackles and one tackle-for-loss.
The Hurricanes Homecoming Game that was scheduled for this past Saturday against Palmetto Prep was cancelled due to this weekend’s inclement weather.
Louisburg will play Saturday at 1 p.m. against The Apprentice School. The game will be played at the Franklinton Middle School in Franklinton.
