ELIZABETHTOWN — Ty Little threw three touchdown passes and Jacob Johnson and Tristian Cotto each ran for two Friday night as Wilmington Laney shut out East Bladen 55-0 in a non-conference high school football game at Lenon Fisher Stadium.

Little completed 9 of 13 passes for 132 and left the game late in the second quarter with the Buccanners ahead 34-0. Little is the grandson of Clarkton’s Mark and Ethel Little, whose son, Luke, is the head coach for Laney.

Cotto’s first touchdown run, a three-yarder, followed by Charles Viorel’s conversion kick with 17 seconds remaining in the half gave Laney a 41-0 lead.

Cotto scored from the 1 midway through the third quarter that put Laney ahead 48-0 and the remainder of the game was played with a running clock.

Laney (2-1) outgained the Eagles 324 yards to 120 and averaged 8.5 yards per play.

East Bladen crossed midfield for the first time with under a minute remaining in the first half when Nyquan Richardson ran 30 yards along the right sideline. The Eagles also reached Laney territory once in the second half. Richardson led the Eagles offense with 9 carries for 62 yards.

The Eagles closed out their nonconference schedule with a 1-3 record, beating South Columbus while also losing to Wallace-Rose Hill and Whiteville. East Bladen is scheduled to open its Southeastern Athletic Conference schedule next Friday at Midway.

Little threw touchdown passes on Laney’s first two possessions, connecting with Hampton Roderick from the 6 just over a minute into the game, then tossing 18 yards to Karajus Green in the end zone with 8:18 left in the first quarter for a 14-0 lead.
