The NCHSAA baseball and softball playoffs were finalized after 2 p.m. Monday. East Bladen’s baseball team will be the only Bladen team to open the playoffs at home.

The East Bladen softball is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. while the other games are set for 6 p.m. Admission, as set by the state, is $7.

Coach Grant Pait’s Eagles (12-11) were the top-seeded Class 1A team from the Waccamaw Conference. East Bladen received the No. 10 seed in the Class 1A East and will host No. 23 seed Tarboro (10-12) at 6 p.m. on Russell Priest Field. Tarboro finished 4th in the Four Rivers Conference.

West Bladen (11-10), the 2nd place team from the Southeastern Athletic Conference, received the No. 22 seed for the Class 2A East playoffs. Coach Wade Pait’s Knights will travel to Williamston to play No. 11 seed Martin County (13-10), the 3rd place team from the Four Rivers Conference.

East Bladen’s Lady Eagles (8-10), the 5th place team from the Waccamaw Conference, received the No. 21 seed for the Class 1A East softball playoffs. Coach Alan West’s Lady Eagles will travel to No. 12 seed Weldon (13-1), the Tar Roanoke Conference co-champions.

West Bladen’s softball team (7-7, the 3rd place team from the Southeastern Athletic Conference, received the No. 28 seed for the Class 2A East softball playoffs. Coach Kaitlin Sykes’ Lady Knights will travel to No. 5 seed Washington (16-3), the Coastal Plains Conference champions.
