DUNN – Kris’shyia McKoy and Anaya West keyed a 16-1 Midway surge in the 2nd quarter that propelled the Lady Raiders to a 34-13 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ basketball victory over West Bladen Wednesday night.
McKoy hurled in 3 baskets, and West connected on a 3-point shot and another basket as the Lady Raiders built a 21-5 halftime lead. Juniors Lainey Autry and Makayla Wright fired in 1st period baskets for the Lady Knights, and Wright added a free throw in the 2nd period.
Wright popped in a 3rd quarter basket. Sophomore Mallory Bryan cashed in 2 free throws, and freshman Alina Chavez sank a free throw for the Lady Knights. Wright dropped in another basket in the final period, and senior Anasia Baxley netted a free throw.
Rylie Williams led the Midway scoring with 11 points, and McKoy followed with 10 points. Wright topped the West Bladen scoring with 7 points.
West Bladen completed their regular season with a 9-12 record and will now await the SAC-7 Tournament pairings.
