LAKE WACCAMAW – Senior Seniah Johnson and sophmore Haley George keyed an early 14-5 spurt that propelled West Bladen to a 45-23 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball victory over East Columbus Friday night.
Johnson fired in a trio of first quarter baskets, and George threw in 2 baskets and a free throw. Senior Lexie Corrothers added a first quarter basket then flipped in 2 more baskets in the second period.

Johnson connected for 2 more baskets and a free throw, and senior Kasee Singletary and freshman Rylee Chadwick pumped in a basket each as the Lady Knight lead swelled to 27-13 at halftime.
Singletary sank 2 free throws and a basket in the third quarter, and Corrothers and Johnson netted a free throw each to pad the West lead to 33-16.
Senior Mikayla Meadows worked inside for a basket and 2 free throws in the final period. Junior Ocean Woody hurled in a basket and a free throw. George tossed in a basket, Corrothers canned 2 free throws, and Singletary made one.
Johnson topped the Lady Knight scoring list with 12 points. Corrothers followed with 9 points, and Singletary finished with 7 points. Lazaydia Flowers led the Lady Gators with 7 points.
Coach Brian McCleney’s Lady Knights improved to 9-1 in the Three Rivers Conference and 12-3 on the season and will host East Bladen Monday night.
