ROSEBORO – Nine of eleven West Bladen players scored Wednesday night as the Lady Knights rolled to a 55-25 non-conference girls basketball victory over Lakewood.

Sophmore Haley George fired in a 3-point shot and another basket, and senior Lexie Corrothers tossed in 2 baskets as the Lady Knights raced to an early 12-4 lead. Senior Mikayla Meadows powered in a basket, and senior Seniah Johnson sank a free throw.

Johnson and Meadows threw in 2 baskets each in the second period. Freshman Rylee Chadwick cashed in 2 free throws, and George and Corrothers delivered baskets as the lead grew to 26-12 at halftime.

Corrothers bombed in a 3-point shot and another basket in the third period. Senior Kasee Singletary made 2 free throws, and Chadwick and Meadows flipped in baskets as the lead stretched to 37-21.

George buried a 3-point shot, and Chadwick pumped in a basket and a free throw to lead an 18-2 West Bladen closing run. Freshman Lainey Autry, Singletary, Corrothers, Johnson, Meadows, senior Essance Murphy and sophmore Hannah Pait added baskets for the winners.

Corrothers topped the balanced Lady Knight attack with 13 points. George followed with 10 points, Meadows totaled 8 points, and Chadwick and Johnson finished with 7 points each.

Kamari Walker led Lakewood with 7 points, and Siriya Doss netted 6 points.

Coach Brian McCleney’s Lady Knights improved to 11-3 on the season and will return to Three Rivers Conference action Friday night at East Columbus.
