BURGAW – Junior Jackie Medina-Leal poured in a ‘Hat Trick’ plus one of 4 goals to lead East Bladen to an 8-1 Waccamaw Conference girls’ soccer victory over Pender Monday night.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Lady Eagles remained unbeaten in Waccamaw play with a 5-0 record and are 6-0-1 overall. Pender drops to 0-3-1 in league play and 0-7-1 overall. The 2 teams are slated to play again Wednesday night at East Bladen.

Medina-Leal had an assist to go with her 4 goals. Senior Heidi Rebollar dished out 3 assists and had 1 goal. Senior Molly Evans assisted on a goal and scored a goal.

Evans delivered an assist to Medina-Leal who banged in the game’s 1st goal 55 seconds into the game. In the 8th minute, Medina-Leal returned the favor with an assist to Evans who knocked in the goal for a 2-0 lead.

Five minutes later Heidi Rebollar blasted in the 3rd East Bladen goal. In the 17th minute, Gabby Rebollar drilled in a penalty kick for a 4-0 lead. Medina-Leal converted an assist from Heidi Rebollar into her 2nd goal of the game that stretched the East halftime lead to 5-0.

The next 2 Lady Eagle goals were set up by Heidi Rebollar assists and were both pounded in by Medina-Leal. Junior Iveonna “NeNe” Ward fired in the final East Bladen goal off an assist from Eliana Padilla.

East Bladen outshot Pender 13-0 in the opening half and 29-2 in the game.
