BLADENBORO – Midway outscored West Bladen 7-4 Friday night in Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ soccer action. The Lady Knights completed SAC-7 play with a 3-7 record but will host Pender Tuesday in a non-conference game.

Senior Lainey Autry lit up the scoreboard with a pair of goals for West Bladen, and senior Eva Ayala-Martinez and junior Brookee Singletary knocked in 1 goal each.

Singletary led the Lady Knights with 5 shots. Senior Kaden Thurman fired off 4 shots on goal, and Autry finished with 3 shots. Sophomore Anna Campbell also had a shot on goal.

Sophomore Jazmy Funez Aranda keyed the West defensive effort with 22 steals. Freshman Makenna Thurman racked up 19 steals, and senior Nadia Diaz Deleon totaled 18 steals. Sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz followed with 16 steals.

Ayala-Martinez came up with 14 steals. Kaden Thurman was credited with 12 steals, and junior Shamaria Jackson finished with 11 steals. Autry made 9 steals, and Campbell and sophomore Yuridia Santana-Dominguez had 7 steals each.

Junior Briana Carranza Toledo was credited with 9 saves in goal for West Bladen.

Midway finished SAC-7 play in 3rd place with a 6-4 league record and 8-10-1 overall mark.
