ST PAULS – Senior Lainey Autry recorded her 2nd consecutive ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Tuesday night as West Bladen’s Lady Knights ran their winning streak to 3 in a row with a 4-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference girls’ soccer victory over St. Pauls. It was Autry’s 4th ‘Hat Trick’ of the season.

Junior Brookee Singletary banged in the other Lady Knight goal and was also credited with an assist on one of the Autry goals. Sophomores Jazmy Funez Aranda and O’Mara McDonald also dished out assists for the winners.

McDonald and Autry peppered the St. Pauls goal with 3 shots each, and senior Eva Ayala-Martinez had 2 shots on goal. Funez Aranda, senior Kaden Thurman and freshman Karla Mejia Rodriguez fired off 1 shot on goal each for the Lady Knights.

Kaden Thurman sparked the West defensive effort with 21 steals. Funez Aranda racked up 19 steals, and senior Nadia Diaz Deleon totaled 16 steals. Freshman Makenna Thurman, Kaden’s sister, and sophomore Haleigh Seabolt finished with 12 steals each, and junior Shamaria Jackson added 11 steals. Sophomore Ashley Sanchez-Resendiz followed with 9 steals, and Autry and Ayala-Martinez had 8 steals each.

Junior Briana Carranza Toledo was credited with 6 saves in goal for the Lady Knights.

West Bladen improved to 3-4 in SAC-7 play and 6-10 overall and will host St. Pauls Wednesday night.
