Harmony Hall Plantation Village Inc. in White Oak is getting dressed up for Christmas in period finery just in time for the annual Christmas Open House Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free and donations are welcome. The Open House will begin at 10 a.m. each day with the firing of cannons.

Programing will include blacksmithing demonstrations by Lennie Moore, Bill Rudine as Town Crier, and bagpiping by Arch Decastic.

Food will be available for purchase and is provided by the Dublin Scout groups.

The East Bladen High School assisted in decorating the house and helping volunteers and staff to prepare the buildings and grounds for visitors.

There will also be antique doll making demonstrations, the 46th NC Civil War re-enactment group will be encamped on the grounds, and there will also be wooden block cooking demonstrations. Brian Avery will also be providing a naval stores working exhibit.

Beginning at noon, Al Rackley and the Family Tradition will be performing Country, Christmas and Gospel music. They will perform on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.

“The band will be playing all day,” said Harmony Hall Plantation village Inc. President Seth Lewis.

The highlight of the day will be the Battle of Harmony Hall re-enactment at 1:30 p.m.

On Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. there will be a worship service in the Harmony Hall Chapel. All are welcome to attend, said Lewis.

Lewis said Sunday’s schedule will be the same as Saturday.

All volunteers are welcomed. For more information regarding the Christmas Open House or how you can volunteer, contact Bobby Lewis at 910-874-4011.
