ELIZABETHTOWN – Tyler Eason and Braylon Cromartie teamed up to pitch a 3-hit shutout as the Eagles posted a 4-0 Waccamaw Conference jayvee baseball victory Friday over Heide Trask.

Coach James Ben Daly’s Eagles improved to 5-0-1 in conference play and 6-1-2 overall and will host West Columbus Tuesday. Heide Trask drops to 0-6 in league play and 1-7 overall.

Eason started on the mound and pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 2. Cromartie worked 4 scoreless innings of relief giving up a hit and 4 walks while striking out 1.

Zach Sholar walked and stole 2 bases to start the Eagle 1st inning. Eason walked and stole a base. Colton Daly launched a sacrifice fly to right-center field that scored Sholar, and Isaiah Lee knocked in Eason with a single.

Cade Rogers cracked a 1-out single in the Eagle 4th inning, stole 2nd base and darted home on Sholar’s fielder’s choice to push the East lead to 3-0. Sholar reached on a passed 3rd strike in the Eagle 6th inning, stole 2nd base, advanced on an error and raced home on a wild pitch.

Jaxon Hair hammered a double, and Lee, Rogers and Cromartie finished with 1 single each. Sholar, Daly and Lee drove in runs. Sholar scored twice, and Eason and Rogers scored 1 run each.

Brian Green, Jackson Sadler and Gage Richardson collected 1 hit each for the Titans. Corey Nardozza pitched 2 innings and gave up 2 runs on a hit and 4 walks. Sadler worked 4 innings of relief and allowed 2 runs – 1 earned – on 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5.
