RED SPRINGS – Freshman Keyshawn Kemp fired in 12 points Tuesday to lead East Bladen to a 25-18 Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys basketball victory over Red Springs.

Kemp threw in 3 baskets in the 1st half, and Kewone Maynor added a bucket for East Bladen as the teams were knotted 8-8 at intermission. Malikah Moore sank a basket and a free throw in the 3rd quarter, Kemp dropped in a basket, and Tevin McLean and Maynor hit free throws as the Eagles edged ahead 15-14.

Moore and Kemp pumped in 2 baskets each in the final period, and Shannon Hankins made 2 free throws as the Eagles pulled away. Moore finished with 7 points for the winners. Khalif Brown, Justice McMillian and J. Rush shared scoring honors for the Red Devils with 5 points each.

Coach Aking Elting’s Eagles improved to 3-2 in SAC-7 play and 9-4 overall and will host St. Pauls Friday.
