ELIZABETHTOWN- Takoda Oxendine tossed in 14 points Wednesday to lead Purnell Swett to a 34-28 non-conference jayvee boys basketball victory over East Bladen.
Swett built a 13-7 halftime lead and carried a 23-16 lead into the final period. Keyshawn Kemp battled inside for a pair of baskets that pulled the Eagles to within 29-26. Dashawn Campbell and Josiah Garner cashed in foul shots to keep East within 31-28, but Swett held on for the win.
Kemp topped the East scoring with 11 points. Khalil McKoy nailed a pair of 3-point shots and totaled 8 points for the Eagles. Campbell followed with 5 points, and Garner drilled in a 3-ball and tallied 4 points.
The Eagles, now 2-3, will host West Brunswick Friday.
