BLADENBORO – Cade Allen and Gavin Elks shared scoring honors with 7 points each Tuesday as West Bladen edged Clinton 30-28 in Southeastern Athletic Conference jayvee boys basketball action.

Connor Monroe and center Tyleak Ballard finished with 6 points each for the winners. Elks nailed a pair of 2nd half 3-point shots and netted a free throw for the Knights who carried a 20-18 lead into the final period. Monroe, Ballard and Allen all scored 4th quarter baskets for West.

Allen drained a 3-point shot, and Monroe and Ballard popped in 2 baskets each as the Knights built a 13-8 halftime lead. Charles Williams sank 2 free throws in the 2nd period for West.

Elijah McCollum and Allen threw in 3rd quarter baskets for the Knights, and Elks buried the 3-ball to keep West on top. Jacob Baggett led the Dark Horses with 12 points, and Holden Spell tallied 9 points.

Coach Matt Hill’s Knight jayvees improved to 3-4 in SAC-7 play and 6-8 overall. West Bladen will entertain East Bladen Monday.
