BLADENBORO – East Bladen rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit with a pair of 2nd half goals and pulled out a 2-2 tie against West Bladen in non-conference jayvee boys’ soccer action Thursday.

Eagle freshman Tyler Eason drilled in a penalty kick to slice the West lead to 2-1. With under 10 minutes left to play, Sylvester Gonzales knocked in the left-footed goal off a pass from Kyren McKoy to tie the game 2-2.

Freshman Cristian Rodriguez Gonzalez scored the 2 Knight goals before halftime and finished with 6 shots and 8 steals. Teammate Kevin Rojas-Rojas fired off 4 shots and had 8 steals. Sophomore Miles Bullard set up one of the Knight goals with an assist.

John Randy Reyes-Garcia led the West defense with 10 steals, and sophomore Jennsen Santana-Martinez had 9 steals. Shandell Gonzalez and freshman Amine Mahdi collected 4 steals each. Freshman Noah German was credited with 4 saves in goal for the Knights.

“Lukas Johnson had an unbelievable game for us,” said East Coach Jay Raynor. “Lukas did great in his role and was a vocal leader for the team tonight. Colton Daly came up big in moments. Easton Bostic and Tyler Griffin had amazing second halves and controlled the midfield.”

The Knights, now 2-4-1, will host Clinton Monday. East Bladen, now 2-2-1, will travel to Whiteville Monday.
