RED SPRINGS – Freshmen Jonathan Ortiz-Hernandez and Kevin Sebastian scored 2 goals each to lead West Bladen to a 4-2 victory over Red Springs Wednesday in Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity boys’ soccer action.

Ortiz-Hernandez scored an unassisted goal in the 6th minute of play for the Knights, and Sebastian banged in a goal off of an assist from freshman Enrique Rodriguez-Gonzalez in the 25th minute to keep West Bladen even 2-2 at halftime.

With 18:15 left in the game, Ortiz-Hernandez fired in the go-ahead goal off of another assist from Rodriguez-Gonzalez. Six minutes later Sebastian was credited with an ‘own’ goal that the Red Devils knocked into their net to pad the lead to 4-2.

Freshman Dylan Hernandez recorded the victory in goal for the Knights and had 1 save.

Coach Kristen Parker’s Knight jayvees improved to 6-3 and will host Red Springs in a rematch Thursday at 4:30.
