BLADENBORO – Jamiyah Hall sank the winning free throw in overtime Friday as West Bladen edged East Bladen 25-24 in Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball action.

The teams were tied 18-18 at the end of regulation, but Hall connected on 3 of 4 free throws in the extra period. Teammate Tinyauh Rhoda tossed in a basket, and Xiomara Phair and Anniya Phillips netted one free throw each in overtime.

Mariah Smith threw in a basket and a free throw for the Lady Eagles in overtime. Teammate Sierra Strickland popped in a basket, and Lavada Jackson added a free throw.

Rhoda topped all scorers for West Bladen with 9 points. Phillips followed with 8 points, and Hall finished with 5 points.

Strickland, Smith and Lavada Jackson shared scoring honors for the Lady Eagles with 5 points each. Teammate Azariah Rhodie tallied 4 points.

Phillips and Hall tossed in first quarter baskets, and Rhoda canned a free throw as the Lady Knights took a 5-2 lead. Lavada Jackson pumped in the East basket.

Strickland sparked a 5-1 second quarter spurt with a basket and a free throw that vaulted the Lady Eagles in front 7-6. Rhodie added an East basket, and Rhoda hit a free throw for the only West point in the period.

Aaniyah Jackson pumped in a basket and a free throw in the third quarter for East, and Rhodie hurled in a basket. Shanell McMillian tacked on a free throw as the Lady Eagles padded the lead to 13-11.

Rhoda rallied the Lady Knights with a basket and a free throw, and teammate Kylee Ward added a basket.

Phillips keyed a fourth quarter Knight come-back with 2 baskets and a free throw, and Rhoda made 2 free throws to pull West even. Lavada Jackson tallied an East basket, Smith delivered 2 free throws, and Jamajah Brown hit one free throw.

Both teams completed their season Friday.
