BLADENBORO – Whiteville defeated West Bladen 17-11 Friday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee girls basketball action.
After a scoreless first period, the visitors took a 4-2 halftime lead. Xia Phair tossed in the West Bladen basket. Anasia Baxley who led West Bladen with 4 points threw in a pair of baskets in the third quarter, but Whiteville held to a 9-6 lead.
Freshman Whitney McLean and Xia Phair pumped in baskets for the Lady Knights in the final period, and freshman Makayla Wright sank a free throw.
The Lady Knights, now 2-4, will host West Columbus on Jan. 3rd.
