BLADENBORO – St. Pauls edged West Bladen 15-12 in the final set to claim a 2-1 Southeastern Athletic Conference junior varsity volleyball victory by set scores of 25-21, 16-25 and 15-12.
Freshman Marlene Crabtree sparked the West Bladen attack with 7 service points, 3 kills and 3 aces. Sam Woodell drilled in 4 service points, 3 aces and had 1 dig. Freshman Marlie Walters walloped in 5 kills and 2 service points.
Shanyla Hunter slammed in 2 kills, an ace, 3 service points and had 1 dig for West. Kylie Durden tallied 2 service points and 2 kills. Karly Ross fired in 3 service points, an ace and a kill. Maddie Wilkins added an ace.
The Lady Knight jayvees are now 3-3 in league play and 6-5 overall and will visit East Bladen Tuesday at 4:30.
