FAIRMONT – West Bladen defeated Fairmont 2-0 on Tuesday in Three Rivers Conference jayvee volleyball action by set scores of 25-19 and 25-16.
Emily Young filled up the stat sheet with team-high totals of 11 service points, 7 aces, 7 assists and tacked on 3 kills for the winners. Freshman Whitney McLean pounded in 5 kills, 5 service points, 2 solo blocks and an ace.
Caroline Brisson racked up 3 service points, 3 digs, 2 kills, an ace and an assist for West Bladen. Sophomore Kylee Ward fired in 3 aces, a kill, a service point and had one dig.
Lydia Villagomez slammed in 3 kills for the Lady Knights. Freshman Kennedy Carroll was credited with 3 digs, and Catherine Dowless contributed 2 digs and a service point. Kayla Norris knocked in a kill.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knights improved to 5-4 in league play and 7-4 overall and will host Red Springs on Thursday.
