FAIRMONT – West Bladen’s jayvees claimed their 6th victory in their last 7 games Thursday defeating Fairmont 2-0 in Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball action by set scores of 25-13 and 25-20.
West sophomore Kali Allen filled up the stat sheet with 5 kills, 4 service points, 3 assists, a block and a dig. Freshman Karlee Gause poured in 9 service points including 3 aces. Sophomore Brenna Hester knocked in 5 service points and had 2 digs.
Sophomore Makenna Thurman hammered in 5 service points including an ace, 3 kills and had 1 assist for the Lady Knights. Kimberly Dowless smashed in 2 service points, 2 kills, a block and had 2 assists. Tah’lea Bethea spiked in 2 kills.
Freshman Ellie Kinlaw blasted in 3 kills and 2 service points including an ace for the winners. Shanna Lewis and sophomore Jahyra Priest tallied 1 service point each, and Helaina Conklin had 1 dig.
Coach Kaitlyn Sykes’ Lady Knight jayvees improved to 7-2 in SAC-6 play and 15-6 overall and will conclude their season at home against Red Springs Tuesday.
