Bladen County’s Kayla Thompson played her best round during LPGA/Epson Tour Stage 2 qualifying Friday on the Panther course at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida.
Thompson shot 76-79-78 in the first three rounds. Friday, on the first nine, Thompson had a bogey on hole number 3 and a birdie on hole number 7. On the back side, bogeys were scored on 11, 12 and 14 while birdies were made on holes 17 and 18, thus giving Thompson a one-over-par 73.
Low 40’s and ties advanced while all players that completed 72 holes and do not advance to Q Series will earn Epson Tour Status in Category l or K, according to finish position.
