On Friday, January 27th, the three second-grade classes of Emereau Charter School were getting questions ready to ask Larrell Murchison, the defensive tackle for the Los Angeles Rams. He was coming to their school to answer some questions for them and read them the book “Oh the places you will go” by Dr. Seuss.
When the East Bladen High School graduate arrived in the classroom, the students had many questions ready for him. He answered the questions and joked around with the students. The students joked and laughed with him as well. Murchison also gave the students inspirational advice on working hard and striving to work toward what they love doing. He told the students to make good grades and do well in school.
After answering the questions, Murchison read his favorite childhood book from one of his favorite teachers. He told the class that he takes the Dr. Seuss book everywhere, and it even went with him to California when he was acquired by the Rams in mid-season after beginning the season with the Los Angeles Rams.
Some students told him they and their families were fans of the team he plays on and asked him for autographs. Each student got a class picture autographed by Murchison to take home with them. So, the day ended with excitement and good vibes everywhere.
Murchison is a 2015 graduate of East Bladen High School. He played football at Louisburg Junior College and N.C. State before being drafted in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft by Tennessee. Currently, Murchinson plays on the Los Angeles Rams’ team.
