Mallory Davis and her UNC-Pembroke volleyball squad opened their season Friday and Saturday in Newberry Invitational in Newberry, SC.
Davis tallied 4 service points, a kill and 3 digs Friday as the Lady Braves dropped a 3-1 decision to the host Newberry team.
In Friday’s second match, Belmont Abbey edged the Lady Braves 3-2. Davis contributed a pair of service points and a kill for UNC-Pembroke.
Davis, a West Bladen grad, knocked in 3 kills, 3 service points and had a dig in Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Mars Hill.
The Lady Braves, now 1-3, travel to Wingate Tuesday for a 3:30 match.
