RED SPRINGS– Senior Greyson Heustess filled up the nets with a ‘Hat Trick’ plus one of four goals to lead East Bladen to a 6-0 Three Rivers Conference victory over Red Springs Monday night.

Heustess’ 4 goals raised his team-leading total of goals scored for the season to 29 goals. Junior Jake Evans fired in the other two goals for the Eagles who led 4-0 at halftime.

Senior Pierce Melvin dished out 3 assists for the Eagles. Pierce’s brother, sophmore Garrett Melvin, was credited with 2 assists for the winners. Heustess and junior Jay McGill contributed one assist each to the East Bladen attack.

Senior Spencer Scott and sophmore Jacob Priest shared time in goal for the Eagles and combined for the shutout. Scott worked 60 minutes in goal and was credited with one goal. Priest had two saves in his 20 minutes in goal for East.

The win was the 100th coaching victory for East Bladen Coach Jay Raynor. Raynor’s Eagles improved to 11-1 in league play and 15-1-2 overall. East Bladen leads the TRC by two games over St. Pauls.

The Eagles travel to rival West Bladen Wednesday night.
