ELIZABETHTOWN- Elizabethtown capitalized on 11 walks to score 11 runs in the final 2 innings and claim a 16-6 Waccamaw Middle School Conference baseball victory over Clarkton School of Discovery Thursday.

The two teams were tied 5-5 after 2 innings. Isaiah Lee, Braylon Cromartie, Aiden Williams and J. D. McArthur drew consecutive walks in the Elizabethtown 3rd inning to force home Lee with the go-ahead run. Lead-off batter Chace Butler hammered a double that scored Cromartie, Williams and McArthur to push the Cougar lead to 9-5.

Malikah Moore drew a 2-out walk in the Blue Devil 4th inning, and Dashon Campbell knocked him in with a single to left field that closed the gap to 9-6.

Colton Daly started the Cougar 4th inning with a walk, and C. J. McCracken blasted a double to right field that scored Daly. Lee reached base on an error that scored McCracken. Consecutive walks to Cromartie, Williams, McArthur, Tevin McLean, Adonis and Butler forced home Lee, Cromartie, Williams and McArthur. Daly’s fielder’s choice plated McLean with the game-ending run.

Butler doubled, walked twice, drove in 3 runs and scored one to lead the Cougar hitters. McCracken doubled, had a run batted in and scored twice. Daly belted a single, walked and scored twice. Cromartie and Williams drew 3 walks each. Cromartie scored 3 runs, and Williams scored twice. McArthur and Lee walked twice each. Lee scored 3 runs and McArthur scored twice. McLean walked and scored.

Dunham batted 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice to lead Clarkton. Moore smashed the 2-run triple, walked twice and scored twice. Leach singled home a run. Campbell also singled home a run. McKoy walked and scored a run. Hargrove scored a run.

Garrett Dunham led off the game with a double to right-center field and dashed home as Aidan Hargrove reached base on an error. Two outs after Moore walked, SaiQuan Leach yanked a single to right field that scored Hargrove for a 2-0 CSD lead.

Daly beat out an infield hit in the Cougar 1st inning. McCracken reached base on an error, and Lee, Cromartie and Williams drew walks as Daly and McCracken scored. Lee and Cromartie darted home on wild pitches to give Elizabethtown a 4-2 lead.

Kyran McKoy walked in the Blue Devil 2nd inning, and Dunham belted a single. Moore hammered a triple to centerfield that scored McKoy and Dunham. Campbell reached base on an error that plated Moore and edged the Blue Devils ahead 5-4.

Butler walked with one out in the 2nd inning, stole 2nd base and raced home on a throwing error to tie the game 5-5.

Cromartie pitched the 1st 3 innings for the Cougars and picked up the win allowing 5 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out seven. McCracken relieved and gave up a run on 2 walks and a hit while striking out one in one inning on the hill.

Noah Hall started on the mound for the Blue Devils and pitched into the 4th inning. Campbell and Aiden Trinidad both came on in relief in the 4th inning.
