CLARKTON – Clarkton School of Discovery edged Columbus Charter 3-2 in the penalty kick shootout Thursday in non-conference middle school boys’ soccer action. Regulation play had ended in a 2-2 tie.

Noah White, Jerod Smith and Prince Powell drilled in their kicks in the shootout for the Blue Devil victory. White had drilled in a 1st half goal to keep the Blue Devils tied 1-1 at halftime.

Columbus went ahead 2-1, but Omar Powell knocked in the goal that tied the game 2-2 with about 8 minutes left in regulation.

Coach Robert Mazur’s Blue Devils, now 2-3, will host West Columbus Monday.
