ELIZABETHTOWN- Ishaq Algozy and Andrio Garcia scored goals as Elizabethtown defeated Tar Heel 2-0 Monday in Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ soccer action.
Algozy opened the scoring with a goal in the 5th minute of the game for a 1-0 Cougar lead. Garcia knocked in an insurance goal with 16 minutes left to play.
Fox Sutton recorded the shutout in goal for the Cougars. “Our defense did a fantastic job of limiting the shots on goal,” said Elizabethtown Coach Larry Williams.
The Cougars won their 6th straight game to raise their record to 6-1 and will visit Williams Township Wednesday. Tar Heel, now 5-2, will host Whiteville Central Wednesday.
