ELIZABETHTOWN – Ishaq Algozy recorded ‘Hat Tricks’ in both goals and assists Thursday as he led Elizabethtown to the Waccamaw Middle School Conference’s AA Division boys’ soccer championship with a 7-2 victory over Bladenboro.

Jeremiah Bryan converted an assist from Jace Lesane into an early goal for the Bulldogs, but Algozy sent a pass to Andrio Garcia who banged in a goal for the Cougars and tied the game 1-1.

Algozy took charge at that point firing in the next 2 goals to record his ‘Hat Trick’ and lift Elizabethtown into a 3-1 halftime lead.

Garcia turned a feed from Algozy into his 2nd goal of the game at the outset of the 2nd half, and Algozy whistled in his 4th goal of the game to pad the Cougar lead to 5-1.

Bladenboro’s Ashton Bryan was credited with a goal when his shot deflected off the head of a Cougar player and into the net to trim the margin to 5-2. However Elizabethtown’s Jayden Lewis drilled in a pair of goals – one off an Algozy assist- as the lead grew to 7-2.

“Algozy not only had a Hat Trick but assisted on 3 of our other 4 goals and controlled the game from midfield most of the game,” said Elizabethtown Coach Larry Williams.

Williams continued, “Fox Sutton was outstanding in goal tonight with several big saves. One goal was actually a deflection off one of our players.”

It was the 8th straight win for the Cougars who finished AA Division play with a perfect 4-0 record and were 8-1 overall. Bladenboro finished in 2nd place with a 3-1 division record and 7-2 overall mark.
