ELIZABETHTOWN – Emereau Bladen defeated Riverside Academy 3-0 Monday in middle school volleyball action by set scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-21.

Julia Flowers fired in 4 aces that rallied the Lady Aviators to a 15-11 lead in the opening set. A pair of aces from Addison Douglas followed by service points from Bella Beard and Mollie Sasser upped the count to 23-15, before Harlie Shaw delivered an ace on set point.

Flowers sparked the Lady Aviators to a 7-3 lead in Set 2 with a 4-point service run that included 3 aces. Bristol Allen blistered the court with a 9-point service run that included 8 aces as the lead grew to 16-4. Sasser smoked in 4 aces to keep the margin at 24-15.

Tenley Dowless reeled off 4 consecutive service points to edge Emereau in front 8-7 in the 3rd set. Four service points each from Shaw and Flowers kept the Lady Aviators ahead 19-18, before Beard served out the match with a pair of service points.

Flowers rang up 13 service points that included 9 aces and banged in 5 kills. Allen knocked in 11 service points that included 8 aces and spiked in 5 kills. Beard finished with 5 service points that included 2 aces and smashed in 3 kills.

Sasser and Shaw contributed 5 service points each. Sasser drilled in 4 aces, and Shaw swatted in 1 ace. Dowless and Douglas both smacked in 2 aces and 2 other service points. Vera Valentiner and Anna Robinson slammed in 1 ace each, and Abby Dicicco hammered in a kill.

It was the 5th consecutive win for the Lady Aviators who will travel to Mintz Academy in Roseboro Tuesday.
