The NC Department of Transportation has announced the following road openings/closings. An update of road openings / closings is as follows:
OPENINGS:
Tobermory Road
Tobermory Road is now open. The cross-line replacement is complete.
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Pleasant Grove Church Road
If we are spared from Matthew, then we plan to close Pleasant Grove Church Road in order to replace a leaking cross-line located 0.37 miles east of NC 410. The road will remain closed from Monday morning through Friday morning. All of this is subject to weather / water levels / and clean-up efforts required after Matthew.
ELWELL FERRY:
The river levels have dropped dramatically; however, water levels remain too high for operation. We will continue to monitor levels post-Matthew to determine when we can re-open.
