The North Carolina High School Athletic Association, the National Federation of High Schools and eKnowledge have announced continued sponsorship of SAT and ACT PowerPrep programs for high school students in North Carolina.
Under the program, students in the state receive a 95% discount on SAT or ACT prep courses, according to a news release.
All student fees are reinvested to improve the community-service, non-profit program and reach more families, the organizations say. The project has assisted almost 300,000 families and has over 45,000 5-star reviews.
“The NCHSAA is grateful to eKnowledge for providing access to the SAT and ACT Prep Course to our students here in North Carolina,” NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker said. “This is an affordable and beneficial way for our students to receive the assistance necessary to succeed.”
The project started over 15 years ago and is supported by more than 300 groups, organizations, and professional athletes. A significant moment happened about 10 years ago when the NFHS, which is aa non-profit 501(c)(3), began its sponsorship. It’s now the official program for all 19,500-member high schools and 12 million students in the United States.
“The SAT/ACT Prep Project has received thousands of unsolicited supportive messages,” NFHS Executive Director Dr. Karissa Niehoff said. “Parents and students deeply appreciate this resource. This direct feedback motivated the NFHS to make eKnowledge our exclusive partner and expand our effort to reach more students and families.”
