1. Bladen County Hospital’s Community Health Day is today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Cape Fear Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown. A health fair, free screenings, free flu shot and CPR training are among the offerings. Stop by, if you can.

2. Gov. Pat McCrory has ordered all North Carolina and United States flags to be lowered to half-staff on all state facilities until sunset today in memory of the victims of the shootings Thursday at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.
