Spread the love

osmanJanna Osman has joined Southeastern Health as volunteer supervisor. She is responsible for recruitment, management and retention of volunteers for the health system to include Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Gibson Cancer Center, WoodHaven Nursing, Alzheimer’s and Rehabilitation Center, Southeastern Lifestyle Fitness Centers, as well as the junior volunteer program.

“I certainly want our current and future volunteers to feel valued throughout the organization,” said Osman. “I hope to foster good relationships between our employees, patients, visitors and our volunteers.”

Osman earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from UNC Pembroke. Her professional experience includes working as a certified medical technologist with Lumberton Children’s Clinic as well as a physician liaison for Coastal Therapy Partners in Lumberton.

“We have excellent volunteers from throughout the region and I hope to be able to grow the program so that they support the customer service and patient satisfaction efforts already established here,” added Osman. “Being a community hospital, volunteers are an important link between the caregiver and their families.”

Osman is making plans now for April’s National Volunteer Week, a time when SeHealth volunteers are recognized for their service, and the annual summer junior volunteer program, which begins in June.

“Janna is a perfect fit for the volunteer supervisor role because of her caring personality as well as her investment in this community over the years,” said SeHealth Guest Services Director Alisia Oxendine. “Her service through the Junior League of Lumberton, Community in Schools, United Way and her church, First Presbyterian of Lumberton, have enabled her to connect with our community in a way that can strengthen our volunteer program here at Southeastern.”

Osman, a Fairmont native, lives in Lumberton with her husband, Joe. They have two sons, Drew, 14, and Will, 17.

Opportunities are available for volunteers to provide clerical support, operate coffee carts and serve as greeters. For more information about how to become a volunteer, call Osman at 910-671-5093 or log on to www.southeasternhealth.org/main/volunteer-home.
