Members of the 8th Corps of Cadets from the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy on Saturday morning visited Gunnery Sgt. (Ret.) Sammie Grange for his 91st birthday.

Gunnery Sgt. Grange was a Montford Point Marine and a Congressional Gold Medal Recipient.

The Montford Point Marines were the first African-Americans to enlist in the Marine Corps after President Franklin Roosevelt issued an executive order establishing the Fair Employment Practices Commission in 1941.
