ELIZABETHTOWN – The Twins jumped in front with a 9-run 1st inning and went on to defeat the Dodgers 14-4 Wednesday night in the championship game of the Elizabethtown Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League Tournament.

Twins team members (pictured above) are: Jase Allen, Mark McMichael, Baylor Gooden, Conner Prescott, Kymani Matheson, Tony Robinson, Greigh Butler, Aidan Lowery, Greyson Dorsett, Elijah Phillips and Ryker Dowless. Coaches are Mark McMichael, J. R. Allen, Jeremy Robinson.

Jase Allen led off the Twins 1st inning with a single, and Mark McMichael pounded an inside-the-park home run to right field. Baylor Gooden raked a single past 3rd base, and Conner Prescott walked. Kymani Matheson knocked in Gooden with a single, and Greigh Butler walked.

Prescott and Matheson both stole home, and Butler darted home on a passed ball. Tony Robinson walked, stole 2 bases and scooted home on a passed ball. Aidan Lowery, Greyson Dorsett and Elijah Phillips drew consecutive walks. McMichael smacked a double that scored Lowery and Dorsett and stretched the lead to 9-0.

Christian Andrews and Caleb Lewis drew walks to start the Dodger 2nd inning. Nasir Barnes lined a single to left-center field that scored Andrews. Lewis stole home, and Kash Purdie was hit by a pitch. Garrison Fell walked, and Knox Gooden smoked a single to left-center field that scored Barnes. Purdie stole home to trim the lead to 9-4.

Prescott raked a single past shortstop to begin the Twins 2nd inning. Prescott stole 2nd base, 3rd base and home. Robinson drew a 2-out walk, then stole 2nd, 3rd and home to pad the lead to 11-4.

Lowery and Dorsett drew walks, and Phillips was hit by a pitch to open the Twins 3rd inning. Allen yanked a single to the left side that scored Lowery. Dorsett stole home, and McMichael smashed a single to right that scored Phillips and ended the game on the run-rule.

McMichael batted 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, 5 RBIs and a run scored. Allen finished 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Baylor Gooden, Prescott and Matheson connected for 1 hit each. Prescott, Robinson, Lowery and Dorsett scored 2 runs each. Phillips, Matheson, Butler and Baylor Gooden also scored runs.

Butler started on the mound for the Twins and worked 1.1 innings allowing 4 runs on 1 hit while striking out 4. Prescott pitched 1.1 scoreless innings allowing a hit and striking out 2. Baylor Gooden finished up striking out the only batter that he faced.

Knox Gooden and Nasir Barnes belted 1 hit each for the Dodgers. Andrews, Lewis, Barnes and Purdie scored runs, and Barnes and Knox Gooden drove in runs.

Patrick started on the mound for the Dodgers and struck out 1 batter. Barnes struck out 4 in his 1.2 innings of relief, and Carson Walters finished up on the hill.
