ELIZABETHTOWN – Mollie Sasser pitched a no-hitter and the Force scored in every inning to defeat the Thunder 13-3 Tuesday night in the opening game of Bladen Recreation’s 11-13 softball season.

Sasser struck out 8 batters, walked 3 and 3 were hit by pitches. The Force scored 5 runs in the opening inning then tacked on 6 more in the 2nd to grab an early 11-1 lead.

Chloe Merritt smacked a single, walked and scored 2 runs for the Force. MaKynzee Thompson knocked in 2 runs with a 2nd inning single and scored a run. Sasser, Addison Douglas and Kelsey Davis drew 2 walks each and scored 2 runs each.

Emma Fisher was twice hit by pitches and scored 2 runs for the Force. Zariah Dill, Ava Gillespie and Chloe Mazur drew walks, and Ruby Liggitt was hit by a pitch. Liggitt and Dill scored runs, and Lily Wells drove in a run.

Emma Adams walked twice for the Thunder, and teammates Delana Phillips and Starlaisha Rogers were both hit by pitches and scored runs. Anna Robinson was also hit by a pitch. Kaylee Daniel walked and scored a run.
