Retailer Evaluating Workforce in Greater Fayetteville Area for Distribution Center Community is asking for potential workers to participate in “Interest Survey”

FAYETTEVILLE, NC –A well-known direct to consumer fulfillment operation is considering Fayetteville as one possible location for a large distribution center to handle internet orders. This e-commerce fulfillment center would hire hundreds of full-time and permanent part-time workers. They would also need hundreds of additional full and part-time seasonal workers (October to December) each year. The building will be fully air-conditioned, and will use modern material handling technology. A variety of shifts and work schedules would be available, providing a flexible work environment. The company will pay competitive wages and intends to be an employer of choice if Fayetteville is selected.

To support our recruitment efforts, FCEDC is seeking regional participation in a Workforce Interest Survey, which residents can now complete on the internet using a computer, cell phone or other mobile device. Go to www.fayettevilleworks.com to join the survey.
“In our hearts, we know that Cumberland County, and the surrounding region, has the workforce this company needs. We need to demonstrate this if we are going to be a finalist for this great project”, said FCEDC President Robert Van Geons. “We are asking that everyone who MIGHT be interested complete the survey.”

Designed to help answer important questions regarding the size and composition of our labor pool, this survey is being conducted by FCEDC, with support of FTCC, NC WORKS, FSU, Fort Bragg Transition Services, the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County and community partners.
County Commission Chairman Glenn Adams stressed the importance of community participation. “Even if you are currently employed, please complete the survey. This is a great opportunity for our community, and we need everyone’s support.”

Responses will be kept anonymous. Participants that want information on how they can apply for a job if the company chooses Fayetteville will be able to leave contact information at the end of the survey.

“The Company is well known and a leader in its industry, offering good growth potential for qualifying employees,” said Fayetteville Mayor Nat Robertson. “This would be a great win for our entire region. People ask what they can do to drive our economy forward; this is a great way to help.”
As a “thank you”, 5 participants will be randomly selected by FCEDC to receive a $100 gift card*. All surveys must be completed before 5:00p.m. June 21, 2017.
