In a remarkable achievement, Colby Lewis, a native of Bladen County and a dedicated Recruiting Sales Manager (RSM) with WoodmenLife on the Coastal Shores Team, was honored with the prestigious 2023 Rookie of the Year Award from WoodmenLife this past weekend.

Colby Lewis, at the age of 26, has already established himself as one of the hardest-working individuals in his field. He is currently in his second year as a Recruiting Sales Manager, overseeing operations across seven coastal counties. This impressive feat reflects Lewis’s dedication and commitment to his role within the organization.

His mother, Sheila Nance, couldn’t be prouder of her son’s accomplishments. She took to her social media account to share her joy, stating, “My son is one of the hardest working people I know! At only 26 years old, he is completing his second year as a Recruiting Sales Manager over 7 coastal counties.” Nance went on to express her pride, emphasizing what a significant moment this is for their family.

Colby Lewis’s success also garnered attention and recognition from his peers and colleagues within WoodmenLife. Craig Walters, another resident of Bladen County, played a pivotal role in Colby’s journey by hiring and training him. Walters took to social media to celebrate the accomplishments within their organization. He mentioned that they celebrated and recognized Carlton Cook for his remarkable 33 years of service with Woodmen, highlighting his enduring dedication. Additionally, Walters expressed his happiness at witnessing Colby Lewis’s outstanding leadership and his remarkable work with his team. He commended both Colby Lewis and Carlton Cook, describing them as “awesome” and emphasizing how fortunate WoodmenLife is to have them as part of their organization. It’s clear that Colby’s achievements have made a significant impact and garnered respect among his peers.

Denise McCauley, WoodmenLife’s President & Chief Executive Officer, also took the opportunity to acknowledge Colby Lewis’s exceptional accomplishments. She praised Colby by saying, “Well done, Colby,” as she announced his well-deserved recognition as the Rookie of the Year. 

In the past year alone, Colby Lewis enrolled over 170 new members for WoodmenLife, further highlighting his exceptional abilities in recruiting and sales. His dedication to the organization’s mission and his outstanding results have undoubtedly contributed to his well-deserved recognition as the 2023 Rookie of the Year.
