PINEHURST – West Bladen grad Sayaun Dent posted a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds Thursday night to lead the No. 1 ranked Sandhills Community College Flyers to a 113-68 victory over Hines Prep of Charlotte.
On Saturday the Flyers who are ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division III poll battled the USC-Salkehatchie Indians who are ranked No. 24 in the NJCAA Division I poll. The Indians built a 6-point halftime lead and defeated Sandhills 96-86.
Dent scored 14 points against USC-Salkehatchie and leads the Flyers in scoring (18.5 points per game) and rebounding (8.2 rebounds per game).
Sandhills, now 14-1, will travel to Wake Technical Community College Monday night.
