FAIRMONT – South Columbus and East Bladen topped the Three Rivers Conference Pre-Season Football Coaches Poll released Monday at the league’s annual media day.
Coach Russell Dove’s Stallions edged Coach Robby Priest’s Eagles 42-41 on a late 2-point conversion in the third round of the 2016 Class 2A play-offs.
Both the Stallions and the Eagles received a trio of first-place votes in this season’s poll. Whiteville and St. Pauls were awarded one first-place vote each.
The pre-season coaches rankings with last season’s overall record in parenthesis follows:

2. East Bladen (9-5)
3. Whiteville (8-6)
4. St. Pauls (6-6)
5. Red Springs (6-6)
6. Fairmont (8-5)
7. West Bladen (2-9)
8. South Robeson (2-10)
