At approx 10:00 A.M. this morning the Bladenboro Police Department observed a vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Lumberton. Bladenboro Police Department performed a vehicle stop. After stopping the vehicle the vehicle fled the traffic stop. At which time the Bladenboro Police Department pursued same.
Deputies with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office along with North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to assist Bladenboro Police Department. The vehicle wrecked in the city limits of Bladenboro and two suspects fled on foot. The driver which was later identified as a juvenile was apprehended immediately.
Bladen County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol set up a perimeter, at which time Bladen County Sheriff’s Office K9 teams were deployed. After an extensive search, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office K9 team located the second suspect, which was also identified as a juvenile. Both juveniles were taken into custody without incident.
The vehicle was confirmed by Lumberton Police Department as stolen. The suspects would not have been apprehended if it was not for the quick response and dedication of Bladenboro Police Department, Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, and North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
