As temperatures rise, so do the chances of unexpected encounters! Recently one of our customers was bitten by a snake and had to spend some time in the hospital.

Our hardworking HVAC team is always on the lookout for any challenges that come their way, and this summer, they have an important message for everyone:

Watch out for snakes!

As we venture into homes and yards for HVAC maintenance and repairs, we want to remind everyone to be cautious of snakes seeking shade and cooler spots during the hot summer days. While they play a vital role in our ecosystem, a surprise meeting can be alarming!

Here are a few simple tips to stay safe:

Keep an eye out: Be aware of your surroundings, especially in grassy or wooded areas.

Wear protective gear: Our team is taking extra precautions, and you can too! Consider wearing closed-toe shoes and long pants when spending time outdoors.

Clear the area: If possible, remove any potential snake-hiding spots.

Stay calm: If you encounter a snake, remember to stay calm and keep a safe distance. Most snakes are not aggressive and will move away if left undisturbed.

Seek assistance: If you are bitten by a snake, seek emergency medical assistance immediately, and try to identify the snake you encountered.

At Smith & Sons Heating & Cooling, safety is our top priority for both our team and our valued customers. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to keep your homes comfortable.
