HARRELLS, North Carolina – The spirit of compassion and support shone brightly on Saturday, July 15, 2023, as the community supported Hadiyah’s Helping Hands for a fundraising event. The heartwarming Benefit Ride for “Emmanuel’s Heart Success” occurred at the picturesque A Touch of Country Venue, 9700 NC Hwy 41 East in Harrells.

Emmanuel’s story is a testament to the power of resilience and hope. When he was just nine days old, this little fighter faced a critical health crisis, finding himself in respiratory and heart failure. An immediate and urgent need for medical attention led to his admission to the renowned Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. There, surrounded by a dedicated team of medical professionals, Emmanuel underwent an exhausting 36-day journey of intensive care in the cardiac ICU and cardiac acute care unit.

The outpouring of support for the fundraiser ride was remarkable. Thanks to the community’s generous contributions, over $3,000 was raised to assist Emmanuel and his family in shouldering the financial burden associated with his hospital stay, ongoing medical expenses, current medications, and necessary home care.

Emmanuel’s mother, Brielle McElveen, expressed her heartfelt gratitude, stating that the donations would help with the medical expenses. Additionally, the family plans to give back by providing lunch for the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff members at the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, showing their appreciation for Emmanuel’s exceptional care.

At first glance, Emmanuel may appear to be a healthy baby, but his fight for a healthy life continues. He currently takes medicine four times a day, and his next doctor’s appointment is scheduled for August 7, 2023. His family and community’s unwavering support and love bolster his spirits as he strives for complete healing. Many have said Emmanuel is a resilient, inspiring bundle of joy.

The compassionate spirit exhibited continues to make a difference in Emmanuel’s life and in the lives of other children at the hospital. Donations are still warmly welcomed through CashApp donations at $KidzNMotion, offering a meaningful opportunity for individuals to contribute to Emmanuel’s journey and bring hope to children undergoing medical treatment.

The heartwarming efforts do not end here. Brielle and her mother, Ilka McElveen, have another initiative planned – a Christmas toy and blanket drive scheduled for December 2, 2023. The toys and blankets collected will be thoughtfully gifted to children in hospitals, bringing smiles to their faces during the holiday season. The event will be held at 1110 S. Poplar Street in Elizabethtown.
