Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While Shaving Today is Martin Luther King Holiday.  A parade is set for this morning in downtown Elizabethtown.

Government offices are closed and meetings normally held on the 3rd Monday, will be held later, many tomorrow.

A week ago, we were dealing with very cold weather.  It came, and went.  Today, residents of mid-America are suffering from an ice storm, unlike anything we have seen in recent years.

We have an update on Bladen roads that have been reopened recently as well as a time frame when others will be as well, all related to Hurricane Mathew.

We need to pray for our new government leaders.  One thing you learn as a public office holder, local, state or national, criticism comes with the position.  If you can’t stand the heat ….. and public acknowledgment tends to fuel the bad-mouthing.  A public office in America is not a crowning of a king.

This will be a very important week in our nations history.

Saw the Facebook images of someone in the Bladenboro area apparently attempting to take money from a car wash yesterday, maybe other businesses as well.  Images indicated a reddish color late model auto occupied by a male and female.  Bet they will be surprised that some of their action was captured on camera.

How about the Greatest Show on Earth ending many years of entertainment?  Ringling Brothers and Barnum Bailey have announced they are ceasing their operation.

And how about the NFL football games over the weekend?  Winners included Falcons, Patriots, Packers and Steelers.  One of the four will win the Super Bowl.  TBD.

Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.  Martin Luther King

Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer.  Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past.  Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.  John F. Kennedy

Truth is like the sun.  You can shut it out for a time, but it ain’t goin’ away.  Elvis Presley
